- Their son James Duerden b.1845 married Sarah Jane Spencer in 1868 (they had at least 5 children).
- Their son John Robert b.1869 married Margaret Jane Stansfield in 1891.
- Their only child, Herbert Duerden, b.1891, married Olive Holt in 1916; they had two sons, Gordon and Keith.
- Keith married Gillian Pickett and they had two children, Louise and Neil.
