BH_P01 500s group~Brands Hatch 1950. Don Parker, Parker Special, leads a trio of Coopers in a 500cc race.


~Brands Hatch 1950. Formerly a motor cycle grass track, the original simple kidney-shaped circuit was tarmacked in 1950 when the first car races took place, running anti-clockwise. This is the bend at the foot of Paddock Hill. The Druids loop was added in 1954 when the direction was also reversed to clockwise.

S_P27 Worried Mike Hawthorn~British Grand Prix, Silverstone 1952. Mike Hawthorn burst on the scene at Goodwood, Easter 1952, with two wins and a second place, driving the new Cooper-Bristol. Here, later in the year, he looks less than happy in the Silverstone paddock while his father searches for gremlins in the engine but, by the end of the year, he had made enough of a name to be snapped up by Ferrari for 1953.~British Grand Prix, Silverstone 1952.
